I photographed this juvenile American Golden-Plover (Pluvialis dominica) at Sandy Hook National Gateway, Highlands, Monmouth County, NJ.

There are quite a few American Golden Plovers reported at Sandy Hook in recent weeks. To my surprise they are very “human friendly” allowing close looks. While photographing these beautiful shorebirds, I was happy to make new friends who also share passion to bird photography!
